Eligibility: Any Medical, Paramedical and Life science Graduates and Post Graduates (M.B.B.S, B.D.S, B.H.M.S, B.A.M.S, B.U.M.S, B.S.M.S, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Bio-Medical graduates, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Endocrinology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Anatomy, Physiology , Health Education, etc...
Course Duration: 48 Hours (6 Hours per day – 8 classes)
Batches: Weekends only
Weekends: Saturday and Sunday 6 hours from 10.00 AM to 05.00 PM

The code format can be numeric and alphanumeric as available in the code books.

In India, Medical Coders usually work in day shifts as the work does not involve calling to US and medical records are transferred through the internet and once the report is coded, it is sent again to payment posting department. However, some organizations have night shifts to accommodate more coders.
The performance of a Medical Coder based on skills, knowledge, and accuracy is continuously monitored for improvement and quality. This monitoring ensures the career growth which is directly proportional to the performance without any malpractice. If the Medical Coder is highly efficient and dedicated and has good communication skills then he or she can climb the corporate ladder rapidly.
